About the House

The Eta Chapter House has gone through many improvements over the last couple of years. In the year of 1995 our original house mortgage was officially burned.

Since then we have renovated our kitchen and bathrooms and installed new carpet. We also currently have 3 sets of laundry facilities, and shower facilities on each of the two housing floors.

In the study room, there are two new computers, as well as a laser printer/copier/scanner/fax machine. Also, there are two large "conference desks" students can gather around to work on assignments together. On the other side of the wall, in our file room, we have numerous file cabinets containing old homework assignments and exams for almost every class that a Beta Sigma Psi member has been through. This helps greatly in preparing for exams, and can often be helpful when doing homework on difficult subject matter.

Each room contains wired hook-ups for internet and cable tv. The house has the same hi-speed connection to campus as the Residential College and dorms, allowing us to connect to campus at the same speeds as them. During the Fall 2007 semester, IT installed house-wide wireless (802.11b), enabling laptop users to roam free about the house without worrying about being plugged in to the wall.

Each member is given a desk, provided by the Beta Sigma Psi National Education Foundation, to keep in his room. Of course, if you would like to bring down your own furniture, you are more than welcome to do so. Many members bring down desks, small couches, video game chairs, entertainment stands, and more. The longer rooms are spacious enough to fit two desks in, as well as other personal belongings.

We also have a pool room and card room which provide us with much needed non-academic breaks. These are available for use by all members at any time. Occasionally, we will hold card tournaments and poker clubs in our card room--another example of how being a BetaSig can help you connect to people on campus.
